Positive points: For a 2-star hotel, I was pleasantly surprised and feel it offers value for money. Although it was a long transfer, (I was the last drop off) and I had to walk into the building through the closed shopping mall at night, a friendly security guard showed me the way to my apartment. He also answered my questions and showed Mr where the 24-hour shop was to get immediate supplies. (Out of building, turn right and into 2nd road on right past the taxis. It is up the road on the right) I was aware that it was an apartment but was pleasantly surprised by how big it was. It was clean and had everything you need for SC. The bed was comfortable, and I had 2 doors out to the balcony, including one from the bedroom. There is no AC but 2 ceiling fans, which were adequate for this time of year but would be less comfortable in full season. My balcony was going to be part sea view but turned out full sea view which was lovely. The downstairs pool was unavailable during my stay due to maintenance but I was aware of this before my trip and it did not bother me. There is a small roof top pool with a bar and lovely views. Lidl is just up the road to the right. It's a 5-minute walk i got all I needed for a 3 night stay and was reasonably priced. The area around is quite hilly with slopes and steps so may not be as suitable for less able bodied people. I highly recommend visiting the 'massage center' just before the hotel entrance on the right. Really friendly Chinese therapist. She was professional and offered good value. 5 stars on Google reviews. I found the lovely marina on my last day. Lots of little shops to browse. Negatives: The free WiFi was poor. I didn't pay for the fast speed WIFI as it was 25e per week but wish I had tried it as the signal was poor and intermittent. Transfer is long from the airport if there are many drop offs as Vigilia was last on list. The coach was idle at the airport for a long time for no apparent reason as fully loaded. This makes for a long journey all in all. I would probably hire a car when I visit again. I paid for breakfast but only had it on my first day. I feel it is very expensive for the limited selection there was. The lady running it just stood watching my every move and what food and drink I was selecting which made me feel uncomfortable. She was pleasantly enough but I did not feel it was necessary to stand by the small food stand and watch constantly. The only other thing I would say was the ladies on reception in the day were not very friendly and were to the point! Would not deter me from visiting again but their customer service skills could be improved. I would love to return to Vigilia Park and I would recommend it. 😊
We had one bed apartment on floor 2, it was good size with balcony, The main pool has been out of use since Christmas. There’s a pool, children’s pool and jacuzzi on the roof which has a bar and snacks. Has plenty of beds and lovely view. Very clean place, staff are canny. Its entrance is through a mini shopping centre, very handy. And Lidl is a 2 min walk away.
I’ve been reading through a lot of negative reviews here about Vigilia Park so I felt I HAD to have my say I returned from a four night stay this morning. This is a two star hotel so people expecting anything above basic I don’t think are writing a fair review. The room was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. The ground floor pool was closed for maintenance but the roof top pool are with jacuzzi and bar was clean and has lovely views. Lifeguard was always on duty and despite reading reviews that he is non attentive and unfair, we found him to be perfectly fine. Pool bar serves drinks and a basic menu and I enjoyed everything I brought from there. I would say it was fairly priced. Reception staff were all very friendly and provided great information. It is a rather strange hotel in terms of the entryway through a shopping centre but I found this to be handy having shops right on our doorstep. There’s also a Lidl within a minute’s walk. The hills!!! What can I say, we booked a holiday on a volcanic island in a resort famous for its cliffs, I don’t think we could have expected flat terrain. It was a good workout tackling the hills especially considering that the beach, shops, restaurants etc are all scattered and even though I’m asthmatic and not the fittest person I found the walks to be enjoyable because of the views. You just have to take it slowly. Will I return? No. But that is no reflection on the hotel. This was my first visit to Tenerife (I’m usually a Majorca or Greece fan) and I’m glad I tried it. However, while the place was perfectly fine it just wasn’t for me, if you will. A special shoutout to the owner of the Panasonic shop under the hotel. Really lovely man who gave us a free fridge magnet as a parting gift and was always really pleasant and chatty. Also try Bar Camber just next to Lidl for great food and cocktails at affordable prices. If you’re looking for a clean, well equipped base for a self catering holiday where you can explore then I would recommend Vigilia Park.
For price paid the apartment was much nicer than expected, great view of the sea, comfy beds and spacious clean rooms. Had a two bedroomed sea view room number 62 on the first floor. Nice friendly greeting from the guy of reception. Beds comfy with loads of wardrobe space. TV was great being able as a Brit to GET BBC, ITV channels etc. Hadca first floor room, would recommend ear plugs though only due to the attrium of shops outside and people walking through to there rooms later at night, (same problem in most hotels I have found) but slept well on nice comfy mattress as I can suffer with a bad back if mattress is to soft. Used roof top pool, loved the jacuzzi. Pool bar good for drinks and snacks.. Used kitchen for breakfast but eat out in the evening. Great bus service just outside by the post office..very hilly but used bus service if needed. Very cheap to get around. Overall for money paid with package from Jet2 happy to recommend this hotel and Jet2 who we're really good 👍 loved the Teraaza Marale bar for drinks time watching the sunsets. Friendly bars and resturants in and around the hotel so it was a good base. Great views from roof top pool of Los Gigantis.
