This is a truly amazing hotel. Dare I say probably the best 5 star hotel in this part of Gran Canaria, if not in all of the island.
The service here is fantastic, nothing is too much bother, and the staff are so accommodating and friendly.
All of the staff were amazing, but a special shout out to Besaj and Juani who looked after us so well during our Unique breakfasts every morning, and to Zoilo our barman at the Unique pool, who was so friendly and attentive, putting a smile on our faces everyday, and to Janice from the entertainment team who took the aqua aerobics classes at 12:00 pm every day, and who is totally mad, in the nicest possible way, and who made us laugh every single day. Thank you all, you are a credit to this hotel and it is the service that you all provided that made our stay so special, and why we are so happy to recommend this hotel.
This hotel is absolutely amazing. It has approximately 1400 rooms, so it is a big hotel, but it is so well designed, that the guests are spread out across the hotel, and it doesn’t feel at all busy. As for the amenities, well there are 5 pools, one is a lagoon infinity pool, that is larger than any pool I have ever seen in the canary islands, and which is visually stunning, and which will simply take your breath away. There are also shows every single night, after dinner, followed by music and a little dancing for those that like that type of thing; they are good shows too, and well worth watching.
We booked a Unique room, which was large, well presented and had an incredibly large double bed, with a spacious terrace that looked out over the spa and gardens, providing a lovely view. The room itself was clean, with all the modern cons and good air conditioning, couldn’t fault the room. The cleaning service, including the turn down service was excellent, friendly and accommodating too! They even replaced our Unique pool towels every day, which was a real plus. Don’t bring pool towels, the hotel will provide them, so you can travel a little lighter.
Definitely worth booking the Unique room, as this option levels up your experience, providing a superior breakfast option in one of the hotel’s restaurants, where you can choose to eat on the terrace, which I would highly recommend. It also gives you access to the Unique lounge with a good but limited selection of soft and alcoholic drinks and some light nibbles, and to the Unique pool area which has a lovely pool, really nice sun loungers, and a lovely pool bar too. It also gives you access to the Hotel Spa, one visit each per stay, and I must say this is a really good spa experience. There is so much to do and explore and relaxation is guaranteed. Hot tip.. if you have a late departure, then book the spa for the day you leave, check out and relax in the spa until it is time to leave…it is such a relaxing way to end your stay!
We ate at the Buffet on the first night, and to be honest I was impressed with the options available and how the food was presented. However, we had paid for the dine around option, and for the rest of the holidays we had dinner at the lopesan hotel restaurants, which are all fine dining. There are three other 5 star lopesan hotels in the area, all within walking distance, with the nearest a stone’s throw away, and the furthest only a short 10 minute walk away, and you can dine in one of the restaurants in each of the four hotels, so four different restaurants in all, and they were all fantastic, with the Rooftop at the Hotel Faro offering some great views too.
I could keep going on and on about this hotel, and how much we enjoyed our stay, but I think you may already be getting the picture.
We have never gone to the same hotel twice, always preferring to try something new, but I will be breaking with tradition and will be returning to this hotel, which is now my favourite holiday destination. See you all again soon, and thanks for a fantastic and very memorable stay! 😀

We loved staying at the lopesan, the outdoor areas, poolsbar areas, restaurants etc are fantastic we really enjoyed them. The bed in the room was lovely, the shower was good, loads of constant hot water. The staff every single one of them were very polite and courteous, everything we needed to talk to them about, they helped no problem. Now l would have put 5 stars but The food is very very average, and the only down point of staying with you . The next comments are more advice than criticism
1. 5 star hotels should really have ironing facilities in your room,we come a long way with clothes in a suitcase and it would be nice to be able to iron them, now we did request an iron and got 1,but we know people who didnt.
2.English tv channels ,5 x english news channels is not good enough for a 5 star hotel, we have stayed at lower starred hotels and had more channels to watch when we wanted too.
3. The sunbeds aren't 5 star quality, need to be alot better, our friends up the road stayed 3 star ,and had lovely cushioned sunbeds.
But in saying those points we still enjoyed ourselves, just felt it as slightly under what should be a 5 star experience should be .

My wife and i recently stayed here, we chose to upgrade when booking to the
"Unique Experience" and also chose a top floor suite in hope of finding a quiet
area of the hotel !
The hotel is a stunning building with fabulous gardens and some great features,
it also sit in a very nice area of the coastline with quality restaurants and shops just outside the gate.
The beach is only 5 minutes walk away and beds and umbrellas cheap at only 7.5 euros per day.
Watch your feet on the sand, its get extremely hot in the day time!
All of the hotel staff we interacted with were are all very friendly and hard working.
The unique breakfast area is a very pleasant area to enjoy breakfast, the food is first class and the staff great with no queues for us.
The unique pool area is also great but sunbed choice is limited if you don't head down there fairly early in the day, some nocturnal sunbed "hoggers" as usual but we did hear that the staff did clear some of the towels from early bed hoggers who then disappeared for hours on end!
Now the grumbles!
The bed was very firm, ask for a topper, it helps a little.
The shower cubicle leaked profusely and any green policy regarding reuse of towels doesn't work when every towel in the room is used to mop the floor and prevent the wide spread of water throughout the bathroom!
The Unique lounge doesn't work well!
Drinks are included and in plentiful supply, the promise of sandwiches didn't happen as all were consumed within 45 minutes of the lounge opening at 11.00 ( shortly after many peoples breakfast time) , only cakes followed, and they don't go well with a cold beer!
We had unnecessary confrontation with a manager about the fact that we didn't see a sandwich all week and challenged repeatedly for leaving the unique lounge to sit outside with our drinks when there is a severe lack of seating inside.
Approximately 30 seats for what i would guess at being at least 200 unique paying guests, the system doesn't work and they need to address this.
With regards the lounge, they are overselling the Unique quota.
All in all a great hotel, we are glad we opted for the Unique experience as other pool areas were even busier , stay clear if you want to avoid buggies and inflatables even outside school holiday times,
Finally the noise!!, entertainment shuts down around 11.00-11.30 which is great, however "Café de Mar" just outside the gate doesn't and this can go on until 2.00am and for some reason the noise from here reverberates around the whole hotel complex making it difficult to sleep until it all shuts off. beware!
On a final note, if the grumbles above don't bother you then its a great hotel
and the staff are first class.

We love this place it's our go to fir some sun and relaxing time. This place has Everything you need food this year is better as they more food stations so not as much queuing . As always the service is excellent. We always go for the unique option as we love the pool and it's so much quieter. And zoilo is great he checks we're ok and really looks after all the guests. We noticed when he had his days off we missed our beers and coffee This guy doesn't stop moving he deserves a rise. Also the pool attendant in the unique area is always around to help other guests. This hotel is in a great location with Everything you need nearby see you next year.

The hotel itself is genuinely beautiful and there are many aspects that deserve praise. The facilities are visually impressive, the spa experience was excellent, and the cleaning team in particular were always smiling and friendly throughout our stay. Many other members of staff were very welcoming. Unfortunately, despite the lovely setting, a number of service issues significantly affected our experience and ultimately let the hotel down.
We stayed in a Unique Club room and there were several issues from the moment we arrived. When we entered the room we noticed the air conditioning did not seem to work properly. It turned out it needed cleaning, which was not a great first impression, particularly as this was at around 9pm after we had dinner and just wanted to sleep after a long flight. We were also told that 22°C was the lowest possible setting, yet in the hospitality room we were given at the end of the holiday it could be adjusted down to 20°C, which was confusing and frustrating.
We had booked a Unique Deluxe View room, however initially we were offered a ground floor room with virtually no view at all — just trees and potentially part of the spa pool if not just a wall. In my opinion, a ground floor room like that should not be marketed as a “Deluxe View.” We had to specifically ask for a higher floor ourselves. While the replacement was better, it was still mostly overlooking the plaza which was disappointing after paying extra for a better view.
There also seemed to be several communication and reception issues throughout our stay. We were told our welcome drinks would be brought upstairs, but nothing ever arrived — perhaps this was a misunderstanding or mistranslation. We later saw other guests receiving trays and being asked if they wanted welcome drinks while we received none of this treatment despite us arriving at only 6:30pm, so not particularly late.
Reception felt inconsistent at times too. On one occasion we were told nothing was available, only to return a minute later and suddenly there is a room available that they acknowledged they didn’t tell us about previously. It didn’t inspire confidence.
There were also a number of smaller issues which individually may seem minor but collectively became frustrating:
* Both USB ports in the room were broken and unusable.
* The drying rack provided was tiny.
* At least one parasol in the Unique area was broken.
* People were often smoking right next to the Unique pool due to the bar being on the other side.
* We initially requested to pay as we went, then later had to switch back to paying at the end anyway.
* No convenient luggage scales were available - only a €1 coin-operated scale in the luggage room. I believe these should have been provided for free either in the room or in the reception area.
Dining was mixed. The buffet was very hit and miss; some days were good, but overall the food was consistently very salty. The evening dining experience was also frustrating due to the queues. Although the buffet opened at 6:30pm, people were already queuing from around 6:15pm, otherwise you could end up waiting a long time to get in even just as the restaurant opens.
Breakfast also had issues — sometimes the service was very slow and our orders often came out incorrectly. It then took quite a while to resolve any issues even in the à la carte Unique restaurant.
The Unique lounge experience was also disappointing at times. We witnessed other guests being forced to ask staff themselves to remove very rowdy guests while multiple staff members stood nearby watching other guests get increasingly uncomfortable without intervening.
Finally, evening entertainment was extremely loud and continued until around 11:30pm. Even staying on the far side of the hotel we could hear everything very clearly. I can imagine this being particularly difficult for families with young children.
Overall, this is a beautiful hotel with excellent housekeeping staff and a fantastic spa, but unfortunately the service inconsistencies and operational issues let the experience down. There is a lot of potential here, but attention to guest experience and communication needs improvement.
