We had a great time at this hotel. I was a little concerned given all the negative reviews but we would certainly come again. Firstly the things that could be improved. The bathroom provides no privacy which was tricky given I had come away with my dad. The toilet area is very small and the frosted glass door did not close leaving quite a gap. Every time one of us wanted to change or use the bathroom the other one had to go onto the balcony. The pool doesn't open until 11am which is a shame for those wanting an early swim. There is only 1 lift to the pool which will not take you to the pool area until dead on 11. The lift is small and stuffy especially when multiple people are trying to access the pool area. There is one lady who is rather rude behind the bar. When I went to the bar she shouted to go away as it is table service only. No signs to tell us this. The Aircon is dodgy seemingly set at 24 degrees and an old style Aircon unit. Now the good There was a small fridge and kettle provided with tea, coffee, small pods of milk and large mugs. Shower is very powerful. Rooms cleaned every day with a change of towels. Shower wash and shampoo provided. Hairdryer adequate. Once you get to the pool area it is STUNNING. Very comfortable sun lounges. You CAN take your own water. Breakfast was plentiful and there is something for everyone. We found the beds to be fine, large and comfortable. Staff were friendly and it is the perfect location.
Well, overall it was just ok, we stayed here weekend of the 12th june this year. The breakfast was decent, reception area was nice, bar was good, staff were pleasant. BUT. The pool area didn't open until 11 am, which is one of the reasons you go on holiday No? You couldn't even sit around it. The views from the roof top bar are lovely. The rooms are a bit tight but ok for a few days. Looks like a bit of maintenance is needed to outside of the building. Rooms cleaned well by the maids
We’ve just returned from a lovely stay at Hotel El Puerto by Pierre & Vacances and overall had a great experience. Breakfast was included and was absolutely amazing, with such a wide variety of choice to suit everyone. The hotel itself was very clean and tidy throughout, and the staff were extremely helpful. We had emailed before our stay to request rooms together as there were three of us travelling, and they accommodated this for us, which we really appreciated. The location is excellent — right by the beach and within easy walking distance of lots of restaurants and bars, making it a perfect base for exploring Fuengirola. One issue for us was that the mattresses were very firm, and I woke up with a sore back after the first night. However, the hotel staff did everything they could to help and arranged for several duvets to be placed on top of the mattress under the sheets, which made a big difference and solved the problem. Their willingness to help was much appreciated. Clean towels were provided daily, and it was a lovely touch to have a fridge and kettle in the room. The only small improvement I’d suggest would be providing bottled water daily rather than just one small carton on arrival. The rooftop pool area is nice, but the pool doesn’t open until 11:00am, which was disappointing for us as early risers who would have enjoyed a morning swim. This also means there are queues forming on the stairs before opening, with everyone rushing for the sunbeds — especially the limited shaded spots. We visited last year too and found the same situation, with guests cramming into the small amount of shade available. A few extra sunshades would make a big difference and improve the experience for everyone. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would happily recommend this hotel.
Great room and fabulous location
1st impression was good, delightful smell as you enter. Looks very clean , checkin was fast, we arrived around 11am to be told room not ready, no problem. Had a secure room to leave cases while we went out to chill. Room was clean and fresh when we got to it, only downside was the layout. We stayed on 2nd floor with lovely view of harbour but the bathroom is tiny, literally u sat on loo right next to shower cubicle, no room to manoeuvre, the partition is glass so no privacy! U can hear EVERYTHING! We took turns sitting on balcony while other was on toilet. The sink was outside the bathroom with mirror and hairdryer, which unless u have short fine hair is useless. Maids came every day to make beds and refil loo roll. They didn't always clean floor though. Location is good as its 5 min walk to train station to many lovely locations, and cheap. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby but much of them are the same! Look for the quieter streets for more authentic food. Beach ok but very shingle, a visit to mijas pueblo is a must, taxi just outside about €25, we caught train from airport on way in, easy to navigate at €4 each, cross over Rd as u come out and follow macdonalds signs to the sea front and hotel is to the right. We had breakfast included, lots of choice but only like warm unless u have fresh omelette made in front of u, fried eggs were lovely and the white was cooked not snotty with soft yolks. Lots of fruit, breads to choose from.lfresh honey from honeycomb also. And cereals. Hot drinks machines and if u look around u will find a table with mugs instead of small cups with english tea bags😁. The lifts are tiny with only a capacity of 4-6 small people and pool lift/rooftop bar wont take u up b4 11 am when pool opens which is a shame as I like to sit around pool for an hr or so b4 breakfast. Didn't have main meals so cant comment. FREE air-conditioning well done for that, safe around 4 euros per day. Not alot for us to do but we are middle aged but still enjoyed our stay. Bar is dearer than outside we went to rooftop once had 3 cocktail each 60 euro. Yrs there's some same price outside but also cheaper if look around. I would suggest blackout curtains though as if a light sleeper the sun wakes you up as soon as it rises! I had to use eye mask. Over all it was a lovely stay and id go again. There is a lot of lose cement missing from ends of balconies but also looks like local authorities are addressing this but not sure if they will do hotels or only residents blocks.Enjoy ur stay😁
